The Stormwater Management Bylaw, Chapter XIX of the General Bylaws, adopted as Article 8 of the 2008 Special Town Meeting, establishes a requirement for permits for connections to and discharges into the Ipswich municipal stormwater system and for certain projects or activities significantly altering the land. Under the Bylaw, the effective date of this requirement is July 1, 2009. However, the process of developing regulations and procedures to implement this requirement has taken longer than anticipated. Therefore, the Board of Selectmen has determined to further postpone the effective date indefinitely.
