NEW DEADLINE:  FEBRUARY 28, 2010

Town Clerk, Pam Carakatsane, reminds Commercial Shellfish License holders that the deadline to renew all commercial shellfish licenses is February 28, 2010.  The new deadline was instituted by the Shellfish Rules and Regulations amendments of March 16, 2009.

Please note that at the time of application all documents and fees must be submitted, i.e. application form, $450, state permit, identification, and automobile registration.  No incomplete applications will be accepted.

Town Clerk, Pam Carakatsane reminds dog owners that all dogs must be registered by March 31, 2010.  The registration fee is $12.00 per dog.

After March 31st non registered dogs are subject to a late fee of $10.00 for each month or part thereof said license is issued after March 31st (Ipswich Town By-laws Ch XV, Sec 5).  Licensing can be done in person during regular business hours or by mail. Please include a valid and current rabies certificate.

The Board of Assessors has received notification of Preliminary Certification for the FY 2010 revaluation.  Values will be available for viewing before they become final during the public disclosure period, Monday, November 9, 2009 through Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Assessors Office.  Values can also be seen on the Town's website, or at ipswich.patriotproperties.com.  Upon completion of the disclosure period final values will be submitted to the Bureau of Local Assessment.

Deferral of effective date of permit requirements and update on program developments

The Stormwater Management Bylaw, Chapter XIX of the General Bylaws, adopted as Article 8 of the 2008 Special Town Meeting, establishes a requirement for permits for connections to and discharges into the Ipswich municipal stormwater system and for certain projects or activities significantly altering the land.  Under the Bylaw, the effective date of this requirement is July 1, 2009.  However, the process of developing regulations and procedures to implement this requirement has taken longer than anticipated.  Therefore, the Board of Selectmen has determined to further postpone the effective date indefinitely.

The manual will be posted on the website and printed for distribution at the Information Desk in Town Hall.
