 Women and AIDS in India

Ipswich Public Library has rescheduled a program, appropriate for ages 12 and up, on the problems of women affected by AIDS in India. The new date is Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Film maker Mark Vikram Purushotham, a native of India who currently lives in the Boston area, will give the presentation, which should appeal both to those interested in social issues and those interested in film making.

The program will be held in the Collins Room, on the lower level of Ipswich Public Library, 25 North Main Street. For further information, please contact Young Adult Librarian Paula Grillo at 978-356-6648.

This event is presented with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
 

   Wii Open House at Library

The next Nintendo Wii Open House for ages 10 to 16 will be held at Ipswich Public Library, 25 North Main Street, on Wednesday, March 24 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Collins Room. Come and try out our new games, including Wii Sports Resort. The Nintendo Wii equipment was purchased with federal grant funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

The Homework Center

The Homework Center in the Ipswich Public Library is located  next to the Gaunt Reference Room. It is set up with two tables and eight chairs. The Homework Center has two PCs loaded with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point. These PCs are also equipped with a laserjet printer. Also available in this area are magazines of interest to Young Adults, a photocopier, a kiosk that holds graphic novels, and a bookshelf of paperbacks.

Paula Grillo, our full-time Reference/Adult &Young Adult Services Librarian, is available to help students with their research most afternoons and two evenings per week. Paula can be reached by phone at 978 356-6648 or via e-mail.

New Young Adult Materials

 
To view and/or print the list of the latest YA materials click here.  
After one year, new Young Adult books are shelved with the regular circulating collection. Young Adult paperbacks are shelved permanently in the Young Adult kiosk. All Young Adult materials have a "YA" sticker.
