Department of Public Works – Forestry Foreman

Town of Ipswich seeks candidates for FT union position of Forestry Foreman for the Department of Public Works. HS diploma, College Degree preferred, and 5 year of profession arboricultural experience or any equivalent combination and MA CDL Class B & Class 1B & 2B Hoisting licenses required. Responsibilities include supervisory work in planning, directing, coordinating and assisting in a variety of arboricultural task to manage the Town’s forest, open spaces, and right-of-ways for communication and electrical lines. Farmers Market Coordinator

Town of Ipswich seeks qualified candidates for part-time, exempt and non-benefited position of Farmers Market Coordinator. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in farmers markets and event planningstrongly desired.  This position budgets, promotes, publicizes, prepares, determines, implements, coordinates and monitors all aspects of the Farmers Market for the Town of Ipswich. This is a seasonal hourly position, functioning during normal business hours, as well as evenings until 9 pm on Farmers Market nights.  The Farmers Market runs June – October annually, with occasional seasonal events. Water Treatment Plant Operator - Water Department

Town of Ipswich seeks candidates for FT union position of Water Treatment Plant Operator for the Water Department. HS diploma and 2 years job related experience in a drinking water facility required and Mass. Drinking Water Treatment Full Status Grade 4T & MA Class D license required. Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, wells, booster stations and chemical feed systems as assigned. Responsible for the operation of pumps, chemical feed equipment, and other appurtenances at the water treatment plant and all wells and booster stations to maintain compliance with all applicable local, state and federal Drinking Water regulations. Director of Code Enforcement/Building Inspector

The Town of Ipswich seeks qualified candidates in compliance with 780 CMR 110.R7 for the full-time position of Director of Code Enforcement/Building Inspector.  The ideal candidate should be a Certified Building Commission/Inspector of Buildings.  As an alternative, Local Building Inspector with five years’ experience that meet the conditional appointment requirements for certification as a Building Commissioner (as outlined in 780 CMR R.110 R7) are encouraged to apply.  The Director of Code Enforcement/Building Inspector performs duties related to the interpretation and enforcement of State Building Codes, zoning bylaws and general bylaws, historical and other applicable statutes and regulations.  Position has general supervisions of Wire Inspector, Gas/Plumbing Inspector, Sealer of Weights & Measures and clerical position.  Serves as Fence Viewer.  Must have good organization and communications skill.  Ability to establish effective working relationships with the public, businesses and contractors, as well as town departments.  Reports to the Town Manager. Council on Aging - Outreach Coordinator

The Town of Ipswich seeks qualified candidates for the part-time (22 hours), benefitted position of Outreach Coordinator for the Council on Aging.  Position identifies and address the needs of senior citizens in the community in order to help them continue to live independently. Masters Degree in Social Work and 3 years’ experience devoted primarily to working with elders. Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for Masters with additional work experience. Knowledge of regional providers of educational, recreational, and health services targeted to the elderly community, preferred. Ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts, grant conditions, insurance policies, applications for entitlement programs, statutes, by-laws, regulations, other legal instruments, and established policies.
