      Fire Chief

The Town of Ipswich, MA (pop. 13,500) seeks a full time Fire Chief with demonstrated success in team leading. The department is a combined department comprised of a fire chief, 5 lieutenants and 12 firefighters under civil service and 20 paid on-call firefighters. The operating budget is approximately $1.8 million and includes funding for converting a lieutenant to a deputy chief in FY 2015. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in fire administration, public administration or related fields, Master’s degree, EFOP and CFO a plus; a minimum of 15 years fire operations experience with at least 5 years supervisory experience; 5 years experience in a management position at command-level capacity; positive labor relations and experience with collective bargaining unions a must.

Recording Secretary

The Town of Ipswich seeks qualified and detail-oriented individuals to perform the administrative duties of Recording Secretary for the Planning Board and/or Conservation Commission.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: taking accurate transcription of meeting minutes and attending all meetings of the board or commission.
