You need JavaScript enabled to view it The Ipswich Board of Health is comprised of three members appointed by the Town Manager for 3 year staggered terms. The Board of Health meets once a month. Current Board members are Susan Hubbard, Chairperson, Dr. Spencer Amesbury and Charles Hill. The Town Manager appoints the Health Agent. The Health Agent carries out the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Health conferred or imposed by law. The Public Health Nurse is responsible for disease prevention and disease surveillance activities and offers monthly wellness clinics that are free for residents of all ages. At the wellness clinics, the Public Health Nurse provides blood pressure, heart rate and body weight checks and is available to answer any medication or other health related questions you may have. The Ipswich Board of Health is responsible for the enforcement of State Sanitary Codes, State Environmental Codes, and Board of Health Regulations. Areas of responsibility include:
Air Pollution, Advisories, Bathing Beaches, Beavers, Body Art Establishments & Practitioners, Food Establishments, Funeral Director's, Disease Prevention and Surveillance, Emergency Preparedness, Household Hazardous Waste, Housing, Mosquito Control, Motels, Pesticides, Private Supply Wells, Public and Semi-Public Swimming Pools, Recreational Camps For Children, Septic Systems and Septage, Smoking and Tobacco, & Tanning Facilities.
