Van Schedule and Policy

The Ipswich Senior Center van is available for use Monday through Friday, from 9:00AM- 4:00 PM, by Ipswich senior citizens (Age 60+).  Appointments must be made by calling the Senior Center office at 978-356-6650 between 8:00AM and 4:00PM. Twenty-four hour advance registration is required for all rides. Requests for rides will not be accepted prior to 48 hours in advance. We DO NOT have standing reservations for any rides.

The van will transport senior citizens in and around the town limits of Ipswich. Medical appointment transportation is a priority.

When leaving a message to schedule a ride, please leave name, address, and telephone number, date and time you want to be picked up, and your destination.

Fee for rides is one dollar each way. No rider will be refused a ride for his/her inability to pay the transportation fee.

Please limit your van usage to one round-trip ride per day.

Please limit your purchases to four grocery bags.

The van will not go through drive-thru bank windows.

If you are repeatedly not home or not ready for the van when it arrives, your van privileges may be revoked.

Grocery shopping to Market Basket in Rowley is available only at the following designated times:

Thursday 1:00 - 1:30 PM


Special trips are offered each Friday afternoon to various locations. Check the newsletter for the schedule.

It is required that a COA volunteer, family member or friend ride along with any senior needing personal assistance.

Senior Discount Passes will be available, 12 rides for $10.00. Fees for rides may be deposited as you enter the van. We use the honor system. Please do not tip our drivers.

Cancellations require 24 hour notice and repeated cancellations will restrict future bookings.

Disruptive and/or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in revocation of van privileges. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reserved seating is allowed.

Riders are required to wear seat belts.
