Public Forum on Proposed Architectural Preservation District
On Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Room A, 2nd floor of Town Hall, 25 Green Street, at 7 pm, the Ipswich Historical Commission will hold a public forum on its proposal to establish an Architectural Preservation District in Ipswich. The proposal, which has been under discussion for several years, and which has been modified significantly in recently months in response to public comment, aims to keep the core of the town’s architectural heritage as entire and in as good a condition as it is today, and to prevent changes for the worse in the future.
School Street & Avery Street Paving Starting 9-2-2014
The Town of Ipswich has contracted with Brox Industries for the reclaiming and repaving of Avery Street and School Street. This work is scheduled to start on Avery Street on September 2, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. Please see the following notices for more info: Avery Street Paving Starting 9-2-2014 & School Street Paving Starting 9-2-2014. Town of Ipswich Website Design – We Need Your Photos!
Do you have photos of places or buildings in town that you think showcase Ipswich in a positive way, or capture a sense of what Ipswich is all about? Or perhaps you possess photos of unique Ipswich events, such as the annual foam frolic or Chowderfest? If so, the folks at Town Hall would like to see them, and perhaps share them with the rest of the community!
Open Space Program Trails & Sails Kayak-Walking Tour September 26, 2014
The Town of Ipswich Open Space Program is hosting a 2014 Trails & Sails event as part of the Essex National Heritage Area’s annual celebration of the natural, cultural, and historic features of Essex County. The event is an Estuary Kayak-Walking Tour within the Ipswich River and Eagle Hill River tidal estuaries, with stops along the way to walk at three of the Town’s premier conservation properties. The tour will take place on Friday September 26, 2014 from 9:30am-1:00pm.

Together We’re Ready – Massachusetts Prepared
September 1st, begins National Preparedness Month. Together We’re Ready: Massachusetts Prepared, is a statewide campaign developed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness Bureau, in partnership with state and local agencies, which encourages Massachusetts residents and families to make plans and prepare for public health emergencies, threat and disasters.
