Snow Closings - Town Buildings
The Ipswich Town Hall and Library will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. Town crews will focus on snow removal efforts on streets, then sidewalks, downtown and parking lot. Ipswich Public Schools have been cancelled on Wednesday as well. Residents are strongly encourage to remain off the streets until the storm subsides.
Weather Emergency - Important Information
Please review this important informational relating to the Blizzard that will be impacting the area early evening Monday and into Wednesday morning.
The Town has declared a State of Emergency beginning at 1230 pm Monday. There will be no on street parking for the duration of the storm. Any vehicle left on the roadway will be towed. You are encouraged to park vehicles in your own driveway.
We recommend that all residents shelter in place. Ensure you have flashlights and other emergency supplies readily available. If using a generator or other heating source please make sure you are using them properly and safely. Do not run a generator in doors. Do not leave candles unattended. Make sure you clear out low lying heat exhaust vents and clear the tail pipe of your vehicle before starting it.
We also advise residents to stay off the roads with unnecessary travel. Allow plow and emergency crews to do their jobs. If you encounter a flooded road due to tidal surge do not drive through it. High tides are at 4:45am and 5:10 pm on Tuesday. If you live in a flood prone area, avoid driving around those times.
Do not call 911 to report a power outage only dial 911 to report a hazardous or emergency situation. To report a power outage call 978-356-6640.
Trash pickup is cancelled for Tuesday the 27th and pickup will be delayed by 1 day for the remainder of the week.

Trash & Recycling Pickup cancelled Tuesday January 27, 2015
Due to the pending weather event JRM Hauling has cancelled trash and recycling pickup for Tuesday January 27, 2015 and will move to a holiday pickup schedule for the remainder of the week. So your scheduled trash and recycling pickup will be one day late this week, please direct any questions to the Public Works Department at 978-356-6612.

Influenza (Flu) Vaccine Available
The Ipswich Public Health Department is offering flu shots by appointment only to individuals 19 years of age and older at Town Hall, 25 Green Street. Please call 978-356-6606 to schedule an appointment. The flu vaccine is free of charge. Please remember to bring your insurance cards and wear short or loose fitting sleeves to your appointment.
